Seamless EDI Integration for Odoo: How Sodexis and aurebus connected customer AQMOS Waterbehandeling B.V. via EDIFACT/X.400 in record time - including a scalable cloud solution. Starting point: X.400 communication for Odoo

Sodexis specializes in the implementation and long-term support of the Odoo ERP system. In this specific project, Sodexis supported AQMOS Waterbehandeling B.V., a water treatment provider running Odoo in production. AQMOS received the requirement from its customer to process all business transactions electronically via EDI (EDIFACT) – including orders, delivery notes, and invoices.

Odoo already provides out-of-the-box EDI features such as connections to the PEPPOL network. For the specific EDIFACT requirement including X.400 communication, however, Sodexis decided to bring in a specialized integration partner – with the goal of quickly delivering a scalable solution while keeping internal resources focused on core business activities.

The solution: Integration with aurebus & SEEBURGER BIS

Together with aurebus, a complete end-to-end integration solution was built:

• Development of a standardized XML interface between Odoo and aurebus

• Implementation of partner communication using a single-step mapping process in SEEBURGER BIS

• Conversion of the data into the required EDIFACT format of the customer

• Modular architecture to easily add more formats, customers, and marketplaces when needed

The entire solution runs in the aurebus Cloud and leverages the SEEBURGER Business Integration Suite as the integration platform.

Through the partnership between Sodexis and aurebus, AQMOS received a turnkey integration solution that enabled even demanding requirements like EDIFACT over X.400 to be implemented efficiently. Processing is handled centrally in SEEBURGER BIS, without requiring specific mapping or conversion know-how on the customer side.
