Demmler’s trade partners – ranging from DIY stores to supermarkets, department stores and specialist trade cooperatives – each have specific requirements for electronic business data exchange. Orders, invoices and inventory reports must be transmitted reliably, in the correct format and in a timely manner. For a mid-sized company focused on production and product development, building and operating its own EDI infrastructure represents a signifi cant effort – both technically and in terms of personnel.

Demmler was looking for a solution that would cover the entire EDI operation without permanently tying up internal IT resources: a fully managed service that runs reliably and allows the company to focus on its core business.

The Solution

Since 2019, Demmler GmbH has been using the B2B Integration Cloud Fully Managed Service from aurebus. All EDI communication runs via the aurebus cloud platform, powered by the SEEBURGER Business Integration Suite.

As part of the managed service, aurebus handled the onboarding of all relevant trade partners – including grocery retail, DIY and home improvement, department stores, toy and stationery retail, office supplies/PBS, wholesale, purchasing cooperatives, and international retail organizations. Communication is conducted via standard EDI protocols and standard adapters. The key business message types processed include orders, invoices, inventory reports and other document types.

After the initial setup and a few adjustments in the early phase, the service has proven to be exceptionally stable. Day-to-day operations require no manual intervention from Demmler. aurebus takes full responsibility for operations, monitoring and maintenance – a true autopilot for B2B communication.

A noteworthy aspect of this partnership: although the daily transaction volume of approximately 20 transactions per day is relatively modest, the fully managed service covers all essential business processes.
