Longstanding Partnership: aurebus consulting and SEEBURGER in Conversation with Daniel Saatzer and Klaus Dirsen.
In this interview, Klaus Dirsen, Managing Director of aurebus, and Daniel Saatzer, Head of Sales DACH, discuss the longstanding collaboration between their companies.
SEEBURGER AG is a leading provider of integration solutions that help businesses streamline their processes efficiently. Meanwhile, aurebus consulting specializes in strategic consulting, implementation, and technical monitoring of IT systems.
Shared History
How did your partnership begin, and what brought you together?
Daniel: “We need to go way back. Klaus, you worked at SEEBURGER as a consultant from 2001 to 2004. That was likely the first point of contact and your start in the B2B world. Later, you joined an SAP consultancy, and about a year after that, I joined SEEBURGER. We quickly crossed paths again. The connection between us was never lost, and the more intensive collaboration we have today started with aurebus. Over the years, we’ve always maintained this personal connection, which is ultimately very important to us. This trust has allowed us to discover and leverage synergies in our collaboration.”
Klaus: “It’s a long and continuous history. For me, it has always been characterized by personal communication. The connection with you and the other SEEBURGER colleagues has been there since 2001. It’s just how it works when you stay open-minded, identify opportunities, and create synergies. Such familiarity is the foundation for developing new solutions and working together on projects.”
Milestones of Collaboration
Can you name specific projects or milestones that have shaped your partnership?
Klaus: “There are too many to count. At the center of all our models is always the customer’s interest—that’s the trigger. Together, we think about how to best meet companies’ integration needs. One example is the aurebus B2B Cloud Clearing model, which we developed to bring customers and suppliers together on a shared platform. This model was specifically designed for smaller businesses with relatively lower transaction volumes. We wanted to ensure that even these companies could operate securely and efficiently in the market. Our solutions allow them to participate in B2B activities without limitations, even if they don’t handle large data volumes.”
Daniel: “We’ve created a great model that enables smaller companies to fully leverage BIS technology. SEEBURGER operates globally with 1,400 employees and often emphasizes standardization in projects. This approach offers significant advantages since we focus on larger SMEs, corporations, and widely used backend systems. On the other hand, aurebus can respond more quickly to smaller, agile projects and address very specific customer needs. This combination already provides considerable value for businesses. Flexibility and the ability to leverage synergies are key to our collaborative success.”
Advantages of Partnerships
What makes your collaboration stand out? Why are partnerships so valuable overall?
Daniel: “Our collaboration is solution-oriented. It’s not just about selling products. We build relationships that go beyond transactional sales.
This means we always check whether the client aligns with us and whether we can create added value together. Partnerships make sense when both parties are willing to contribute their competencies and resources to serve the customer as effectively as possible.”
Klaus: “A partnership always makes sense when the foundational pillars are solid: absolute trust and complementary competencies. That creates synergies. When we tackle a problem together, we can often solve it more efficiently and creatively than on our own.
SEEBURGER’s technical expertise as the developer of BIS technology plays a crucial role here. SEEBURGER sets the tone for technical development, while aurebus brings the agility and flexibility needed to respond quickly to market changes. That’s a key to success.”
Future Developments
What do you see for the future of your collaboration?
Klaus: “I believe we will further deepen our technical collaboration. Technologies are evolving rapidly, particularly in the fields of artificial intelligence and APIs.
We know that with the right technology, we can create solutions and added value for businesses. The exchange of technical expertise and community involvement will become increasingly important to develop innovative solutions and stay competitive.”
Daniel: “We need to keep an eye on market trends. Sustainability and e-invoicing are two significant topics that will shape the future. New regulations and requirements bring both challenges and opportunities.
We need to adapt solutions and continually develop innovative approaches together to provide real added value to our customers and stay ahead of the curve. I see great potential in our partnership to meet customer needs even better in the future.”
Conclusion
What can other companies learn from your partnership?
Klaus: “Companies can learn that partnerships succeed when both parties earn genuine trust, bring their competencies to the table, and share aligned interests.
When you collaborate effectively, 1+1=3. By focusing on this and on the needs of businesses, value and success are created. At aurebus, we actively live by the belief that cooperation achieves more than going it alone. It’s essential for growth.”
Daniel: “It’s important to place the needs of businesses at the center and learn how to continuously improve our services. Projects are driven by people, and partnerships require strong communication.
That’s a key ingredient for success. Keeping that in mind, a lot can be achieved through collaborative partnerships.”
